The Danish Society for Marine Biology (DSFMB) was founded to improve general awareness about Marine Biology and to strengthen contacts between marine biologists in Denmark.

This is done by holding 6-8 meetings a year, where a chosen topic is illustrated by presentations followed by questions and debate. Meetings are held at various venues, and topics can be strictly marine biological or more multidisciplinary - including currently burning issues.

The Society aims to appeal to everyone interested in marine biology. Members include biologists, research assistants, students, and other professionals such as environmental scientists, climate researchers and fisheries biologists.

The meetings are scheduled and arranged by a committee, who welcome proposals for meeting topics, new ideas and constructive criticism.
